The Ninstints, a United Nations World Heritage site, contains a group of original totem poles of old Haida villages in the Gwaii Haanas National Park Reserve on the Queen Charlotte Islands. They are the largest North American collection of standing totem poles located in their original location and the best preserved totem village in the world. The villages are no longer inhabitated but they are protected and a limited number of visitors are allowed.
